If you remove the handlebars and seat and tank, it all fits neatly in the trunk of my Honda Civic :-)  Bessie's parts are in quite good shape, which is reasonable since the odometer shows only about 3900 miles. It was connected. Quite a few parts are missing and some strange things were found. No muffler, just the 90 degree exhaust pipe (in a pipe). Rear shocks rusty, front fender dented a bit :-) The tank is well not pretty :-) Chrome and tank are dented, chrome not rusted, rubber knee pads are very good, and original badges.  Front view shows really nice handlebars, front forks look OK. What you may not see is that is no fork lock!  Notice the front brake lever is broken? Clutch lever is OK, switches are OK too. Now the engine, AC generator side. No sprocket cover, and notice, no condenser! I bet this didn't run long like that. :-)  Sprocket close up  I think those two Phillips screws are for the cover, not the sprocket (lol) Top view of the engine.  High voltage coil and spark plug wire look good, but what is hard to see is that that the head of the front screw mounting the coil is completely rusted away??  The Keihin carb looks to be really nice and clean! On the other side the kickstarter is missing? The rear wheel and fender, which is quite good.  Axle is rusted pretty badly and the backing plate too. One chain adjuster (right side) was plain gone! No spacer on axle? No chain, and no chain guard, that is really hard to find :-( Front wheel fender, step bar, headlight...  Bucket has small cracks, speedometer is good, headlight is nice, step bar is bent some. But the front wheel is quite nice and the hub is very good. The tank emblems  Notice the perfect circular shape (lol). I swear that is how I got them. All I did was flatten them a little according to the "recipe" given by chef Eric Ley, our Glaswegian :-) So all in all, a nice haul, and lots of good parts for sale or swap! Tank badges/emblems anyone :-) Sorry emblems are sold. |
