February 12, 2007:  Fuel system removal and throttle system

Looks pretty grimy here! But it really isn't that bad.

What it looks like after removing the airbox, hose to carb, fuel line, carb overlow hose, intake manifold.

The rubber grip was shot, so off it came. This is the throttle cable folded back so that you can see that the center wire actually has actually moved.

This is probably the first time in 25 years that the throttle grip has turned, since it was stuck at both ends. The throttle slide was varnished in. Needed liquid wrench. The choke slide also was stuck. Still haven't got the float bowl cover off the bottom. The throttle slide was clogged with 25-year old gray grease that had jelled (graphite lube maybe?). After freeing it up, the throttle slide now works.
