February 13, 2007:  Carb opened and a peek into the frame

This is all that was left of the original muffler! That is one of its mounting holes; it was bolted to the engine.

The fuel overflow line on the top, hard as a rock, below it the fuel line, so hard it pulled the copper fittings on both the carburetor and petcock. Then the air input rubber hose. Where does one get one of these? I like Eric Ley's idea, radiator hose from an auto parts store.

The carburetor choke and throttle slides finally working

How to get rid of that rust? Any ideas? Or is it hopeless?

The CS90 stamp is also on magneto rotor and points base. Is this normal?

How does one get a really baked gasket out? Any ideas?

The engine has numbers.

This is to the right of the battery location in the frame. The high-voltage wire to the plug comes out the bottom of here, so I presume there is a high-voltage coil in the mouse(?) nest in there somewhere!
