March 15, 2007:  New front inner tube

Time to change the flat inner tube in the front tire.

The second of Anis' ( http://tenavintage.com) parts is going on, the inner tube. After much levering, the tire and inner tube are off. Replaced inner tube. Now getting the tire back on! The last foot of rim on the last bead (edge) of the tire, now that is tough! with a little jiggling it is done. The tire now has 26 lbs. of pressure in it for the first time in 20 years! The tire looks good. No picture of tire on the rim. I was just too tired after wrestling with the tire to glorify it with a picture. I did clean and adjust the front brake and it seems quite good.

While I had the wheel and fender off, I thought I would remove the cracked fork boots. How does one put new fork boots on? Do you slide them up the tube over the fender mounting protrusions? Any suggestions? I never had a motorcycle with exposed front forks! I only drove a leading link Vespa and a leading link front suspension Honda C200. So I never had to contend with rubber fork boots! (LOL)
